Step-by-step- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped crab meat, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, and white pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the crab rangoon filling in the center of the wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little egg wash or water using your finger.
- Fold the wrapper into your desired shape: either a triangle by bringing opposite corners together, or a purse/star shape by bringing all four corners to the center and pinching the edges to seal.
- Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers. Place the formed crab rangoons on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they don’t touch.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place 4-6 crab rangoons into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes, flipping occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried crab rangoons with a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce or duck sauce.

Storage & Freezer Guide
Make it last Refrigerator 2-3 days
Store cooked crab rangoons in an airtight container. Reheat for best results.
Freezer Up to 3 months (uncooked)
Place uncooked crab rangoons on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Transfer to a freezer-safe bag. Fry from frozen, adding a minute or two to cook time.
Freezer Up to 1 month (cooked)
Freeze cooked and cooled crab rangoons in a single layer, then transfer to an airtight container or freezer bag. Reheat in an oven or air fryer.
Reheat Oven/Air Fryer
For best crispiness, reheat cooked crab rangoons in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or in an air fryer at 325°F (160°C) for 5-7 minutes, until hot and crispy.
Chef’s Corner
- Ensure your cream cheese is very soft for a smooth filling. You can microwave it for 10-15 seconds if needed.
- Don’t overfill the wonton wrappers; too much filling can cause them to burst during frying.
- If frying, maintain a consistent oil temperature to ensure even cooking and prevent sogginess. A kitchen thermometer is very helpful.
- For a healthier alternative, you can bake the crab rangoons at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Lightly brush with oil before baking for extra crispiness.
